With all the recent snow Erin would drop to her knees flop and begin making snow angels. One day in particular she filled our entire driveway with snow angels and the neighbors came out to admire her sheer joy!

I passed this thong everday for two weeks on my daily morning and evening shuffle to and from work! No one believed me when told them a thong was left in our library parking lot. Despite our best efforts, the thong was never claimed and was properly disposed of by management! What is the world coming to?

caldecott program 2009 (Riverside and Indian Run Elementary)
I have had the great pleasure of sharing 20 new Caldecott contenders with one of our local Dublin schools (Riverside Elementary). This is our first year sharing this powerful program with Riverside (thanks to the support of Franki Sibberson). My first day presenting the 20 books was Thursday 1/8 and it has been a delightful experience from the very first moment. Why? Because the insights the children provide and their perspecitve in the moment is awesome and each time they teach me something new! How many times have I read “The Day Leo Said I HATE YOU” ….? !countless times and NEVER once did I see the mirror image on the computer screen but a 3rd grader pointed it out to me instantly. These kinds of moments are what a Caldecott program is all about!!! Below is a listing of the 20 picture books shared. Check it out!

This picture is celebrating Ellen’s beautiful quilt made in honor of the 25th Grave Tales spook storytelling program at the Dublin Branch.
Pictured are Frank McGarvey this year’s storyteller, Ellen the quilt designer and myself as the “good” witch helping to hold the quilt. Several staff members chose to dress in costume to celebrate Grave Tales and to get in the spirit of fun!
